R&D 100 Awards
Called the "Oscars of Invention," this award recognizes annually the most technologically significant new products and processes developed by some of the most prestigious and recognizable companies, research groups, and universities worldwide.

Macroview Otoscope (2005) - Praised as the first major advancement in otoscope design in more than twenty years, the new design of the Welch Allyn Macroview Otoscope gives this device 30 percent more magnification than traditional otoscopes, a nearly full view of the tympanic membrane, and focusable eyepieces.

DuraShock Technology (2002) - Turning traditional aneroid sphygmomentry upside down, Welch Allyn's DuraShock technology introduced shock resistant, gear-free, lightweight blood pressure gauges able to withstand drops from up to 60 inches while remaining accurately calibrated.

PanOptic Ophthalmoscope (2002) - With its innovative optical design known as Axial PointSource optics, Welch Allyn's PanOptic Ophthalmoscope was recognized for its fast, easy entry into small, undilated eyes, significantly greater field of view, and a 26 percent increase in magnification for viewing retinal details.
